Personal Data Protection Notice

Under article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law no. 6698, we explain as data controller which personal data we process, for what purpose, and what your rights are.

This is a courtesy translation. The processing of personal data is governed by Turkish law; in case of any discrepancy the Turkish text prevails.

Personal data we process

Most of our website can be used without providing any personal data. Product search, pharmacy search and product code look-up do not ask for identifying information. Personal data is processed only in the situations below.

Purposes and legal grounds

We process your personal data only for the purposes below, relying on the legal grounds set out in the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law no. 6698 (KVKK).

If you gave separate consent on the thesis support form, your contact details are also used to inform you about similar academic support programmes. That use relies on explicit consent and you may withdraw it at any time.

Adverse reaction reports and health data

By their nature, suspected adverse reaction reports may contain health data. Health data is a special category of personal data under article 6 of the KVKK and is processed only to fulfil our obligations under pharmacovigilance legislation, by personnel bound by a duty of confidentiality.

As required by pharmacovigilance legislation, these reports are forwarded to the Turkish Pharmacovigilance Centre (TÜFAM) within the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency. Directly identifying information is processed only to the minimum extent necessary to assess the report.

To report an adverse reaction: speak to your doctor or pharmacist first. You may also send the report to pharmacovigilance@aymedilac.com.

Transfer of personal data

We do not sell your personal data and we do not share it with third parties for marketing purposes. Transfers take place only in the following cases and only as far as the purpose requires:

  • To competent public authorities: under statutory reporting and inspection obligations, in particular to the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency.
  • To our suppliers: to the printing and courier companies engaged for thesis printing support, limited to the information needed for delivery.
  • To our legal advisers and competent bodies: in the event of a dispute or a legal request.

Transfers are made in accordance with article 8 of the KVKK. Our website contains no third-party advertising network, social media tracker or analytics tool; data about your use of the site is not transferred abroad in this way.

Retention periods

We retain your personal data for as long as the purpose requires and until the retention periods laid down by legislation expire. Once the period ends, data is deleted, destroyed or anonymised.

  • Thesis printing support records: for the general limitation period after the support is completed.
  • Adverse reaction reports: for the period required by pharmacovigilance legislation.
  • General correspondence: for a reasonable period after the matter is closed.

Your rights as a data subject

Under article 11 of the KVKK you have the right to:

  • learn whether your personal data is processed,
  • request information if it has been processed,
  • learn the purpose of processing and whether the data is used accordingly,
  • know the third parties in Türkiye or abroad to whom the data is transferred,
  • request rectification if the data is incomplete or inaccurate,
  • request erasure or destruction within the conditions of the law,
  • request that rectification, erasure and destruction be notified to third parties to whom the data was transferred,
  • object to a result against you arising from analysis solely by automated systems,
  • claim compensation for damage suffered because of unlawful processing.

No profiling or evaluation is carried out on your personal data solely by automated systems.

How to apply

You may submit requests concerning your rights, in line with the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, by:

  • writing to our registered office with documents establishing your identity, or
  • sending an e-mail to info@aymedilac.com from the address you previously notified to us and which is registered in our systems.

Your application is concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest. Where the process incurs an additional cost, the fee set by the Board may be charged.

If your application is rejected, the answer is insufficient or no answer is given in time, you may lodge a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Board within thirty days of learning the answer and in any case within sixty days of the application.

Changes to this notice

We may revise this notice in line with changes in legislation and in our processes. The current text is always published on this page.
